Did everyone get registered for classes? I called on the 21st to register, but her voicemail said she was out of the office until January 6th (Thur.) I gotta be registered by the 8th so I can get my fin aid & order books from Flag to be sent to me in Yuma... Scared of all this last minute stuff!! I just like everything to be all neat & prepared & ready for me! hehehe

Another thing, books. Did anyone price the books at the bookstore online? It looks like for first semester, it's about $350ish??? I heard someone say $3,000 for first semester and someone else say $1,000... How come I only came up with $350??? Any input???

Just lost my first post so forgive me if this ends up being a duplicate.

Chrissy - Sorry, I've been hunting for Tucson folks but there don't seem to be many.

Question - were you able to apply for scholarships? I'm puzzled by the scholarship ap deadline. I've seen various dates listed but they are all BEFORE the nursing program ap is even due and the scholarships all say you must be accepted to the program before applying. I won't know if I'm even in the program until April at the earliest so I wonder what you're supposed to do about the scholarship situation. I doubt I'll get much since I'm not at the main campus and I already have a degree but even if I get a little that's better than nothing.

Let me know what you find out about the books. I'm like you, I like to have all my ducks in neat little rows. I'd love to get the 1st semester books in the summer if I get accepted so I can get a head start on reading (I found the 1st semester syllabus for most classes on the NAU site.) Even if they change things around a little I can't imagine that 1st semester reading will change much.

    Best Wishes.

Well, one thing I have to say that I DON'T like about AllNurses is that I cannot delete my stupid questions or comments once I realize them! :spin:

I was only looking at NUR 205 (not 214 & 215 & the BIO 320 I have to take!!) SMH

    haha

Go to FastWeb & apply for everything you can find you even remotely qualify for! I will share my info about the NP with whoever wants it. That's how I ended up here at AllNurses.com - trying to find information without having to chase down nursing students & ask them questions! hehe

Yep, that's my gripe about AN also. I screwed up the year in the title of a post and it WILL NOT let me edit or delete.

I thought that seemed a bit light for books

I'm thankful for all your posts over the last months. When I found this thread I read the entire thing. I'm not ashamed to say I'm stalking you guys that are hopefully going to be a term ahead of me. You're right it's way better than chasing nursing students down the street.

If a post needs editing you may report it (click on the Report icon, lower lefthand corner of each post) and ask the mods to edit.

Ability to self-edit improves with Premium or Platinum membership (I do realize the cost is prohibitive for many).

    Thanks for your participation here!

Wow - Thank you Dianah!! I wish my online professors were as quick with a reply as you are!!

NMomma: I spent HOURS (literally) on here reading and reading just trying to get more and more info about what to expect and getting questions answered and hearing other people's stories. It's a great place to come to get info without having to stalk real life people (well, ones that can see you walking by on campus and say, "That's that crazy chick I was telling you about!!" LOL

Registered! Anyone else told they should take the Jr. Level writing course (medical ethics or something) 1st semester? I'm all signed up for it, too.
