Maricopa Waiting List / Placement / Timestamps 2010+

U.S.A. Arizona

Published

Hey everyone, I wanted to start a place for people to post and repost about waitlist times, placement runs, and their timestamps.

It is very hard searching for all the information and maybe people will access this thread and keep it updated with information so we all can get some idea on where we stand in line for Maricopa Nursing Placement.

As for me I have a

6/11/10 8:01:32 Timestamp. The placement just ran on March 6th,2012 and I was not placed. On the application website it says that the placement did NOT reach the June timestamps. This will mark 5 semesters that I was not placed (was expecting a 3 semester wait)

I am curious how far the placement ran. If people that were placed during the last placement run (3/6/12) come across this thread and would be willing to post their timestamp and what school choice number (1 through 5) they were placed in that would give an indicator how far away it is.

With almost 2500 people still on the waiting list it looks like it can be a 4-5 year wait for people just now getting on it. :(

Look forward to chatting with all of you and good luck.

Hi.. I have a questions.. I have been reading through your post. For the maricopa waitlist.. How do you all know how many people are on it or ahead of you? My time stamp is 02/06/2015 08:02:44AM... Also my friend has not submitted yet, but going too any day.,, Is the last day for this "cut off" 3-31?

thanks

There is no way of knowing how many people are ahead of you on the list. As for the cutoff, they should have that posted on the college websites.

I go to CGCC and lecture is Thursday 8:30-1:00. Lab is Monday and Wednesday 8:30-3:00. We start clinicals Monday. My rotation is Monday and Tuesday 6:30-3:00. Block 1 student. Hope this helps

How do you like the program so far ? I'm waiting to hear when I start. Are the teachers nice bc I've heard at that college they aren't. Just curious. Any tips you care to share? Lecture is only one day a week? I would've assumed it would've been more than one day. . Thanks for any Advice I am sooo nervous for the program 😬 how difficult is the program for you? I hear all the horror stories and that intimidates me soo much. Any prep tips or just Anything at all for advice? Sorry to Bombarde you but nice to hear things from people who are in the program.

@nursecarrillo- just curious, when you start clinicas do you still have lab?

Im not sure if that school may be different, but at SCC you still have lab even after clinical starts because you are continually learning new skills and have checkoffs throughout the semester. Also, lab is not just skills stuff, there is a lecture content to it as well. Like, for IVs, we had a lecture about IVs one day, then the next lab we actually started practicing IVs. We also had lab to learn the lecture part of assessments, and lab was used for the acid/base and F&E content as well as fluid types and other stuff like that. Especially during first semester since there is so much to learn.

So, again, that school could be different, but it is very likely that you will still have lab after clinical starts. But also, if that school is like mine, you wont have anymore lab after block 2. Just simulation days since all the major skills are taught in block 1 and 2.

Just a heads up, I still completing my prereqs for the nursing program. Since I had been hearing about the long wait I had also inquired about doing the surgical tech program at gateway. Well this morning when I spoke to advisement at PC (my "home campus") I was told the wait for the rn program is currently 1-2 semesters. Not sure how true that is but I figured I would atleast share the news. :)

I know it is for sure at SCC. They sent the current nursing students and students that have attended pre reqs there an email stating that many applicants would get in next semester at their school and that the MCCCD programs as a whole only have a 1-2 semester wait. When I started last Jan, there were people in my cohort that had only waited 3 semesters. Then the following semester there were people that only waited 2 semesters. I havent asked any of the current first block students, but it wouldnt surprise me if students only waited 1-2 semesters. Some schools are still longer, but in general, the wait is much shorter right now.

Ok they are placing today!! They said at 10am, wonder how long it takes to be notified via email! Keeping my fingers crossed!

I wonder that too. I wonder how long it takes to be placed not having all the choices filled ? Does anyone have some sort of clue? Thanks

It depends on which choices you have and how many openings they have. My only choice is Estrella and they will only be taking 2 people off the wait list (the rest is filled from CEP) so I would be incredibly surprised if I got in this semester and i would have to defer anyways because I'm applying for CEP in June. But other schools like Phoenix, Scottsdale, gateway have many more openings than Estrella and Glendale do. So it really just depends.

Usually it takes around 2 hours..I'm one of the older stamps so I've been through this a lot! Definitely anxiously awaiting an email!!

Thanks I have two choices. I guess I'll see how long it takes. Good luck!
