I have been accepted into both of these LPN programs. There isn't much difference other than drivng distance for me. One starts in Oct. and the other in Nov. One requires a $2K deposit. So, does anyone have any insight or experience at these particular schools? Thanks!!

Hi, Pepperdean, did you apply yet? I just applied to MCC for my second time! How did you do on the TEAS? I am so anxious and nervous waiting to find out if I got in or not!

Hello!

I too am very nervous and anxious to find out whether or not I will be accepted. I think I did alright on my TEAS test, however I do not know what the average accepted score is. Hopefully they will let us know closer to six weeks instead of eight.

Best of Luck~

A friend of mine went to the MSC and said that it is very difficult and he has had some problems with racial issues. He is Chinese and said that by the middle of the course all students other than caucasian were gone except him. He told me there was an investigation going on there. I don't know much more other than he is always studying, but I do know that the SWSC has alot of newer resources and updated curriculum. I start the LPN program at SWSC this month and I'm pretty excited. It only cost me a down payment of 650 oor something around there. I payed that then applied for financial aid which covers the rest, but seriously if you have a family like me financial aid is the way to go. Most of the time you get it because you have a family. Hope this helps anyone in the future.

congratulations mattison i also start swsc this month so c u at orientation 2morrow im so excited as well do u know any info on this school how the teachers are?? etc..

I'm waiting (over a year now) to get into the MCC Nursing Program and my first choice out of five was the online Rio Salado CC program. It's now no longer available, and I'm wondering why. I work full time and have family at home, plus I am an older student, and have not had good experiences sitting in classes with 18-19 year olds. I've taken two online classes, got As in both of them, and enjoyed them - nice to be able to work on them at home and fit them around your work and home schedule.

Are there any other options in MCC for online classes in nursing?

Have you inquired with the school? I was once told that a defunct program was going to start back up again "at any time". I decided I couldn't wait on "any time", so I just looked elsewhere. Several years later I found out that "any time" really did occur, but not fast enough for me!

I don't know much about the teachers but I'm excited to start!

Hi, if you live near Tucson, what nursing program are you in, or were you in? I have completed all my pre-requisites for Pima CC and University of Arizona and applied at both. I'm still waiting to hear back from UA, and Pima has a 3 year wait list (ew!) so I'm trying to look at other schools as back ups...

I saw that Pima medical institute has a nursing program. I found a few posts about that school that I read through, but most were at least a year old. Does anybody have any recent information on that school? i.e. how well does the ADN transfer? Did you like the classes, etc.

I know NAU has a distance learning nursing program here as well, are there any other RN programs (BSN or ADN) in the area?

Thanks!

I have a friend that works there at Rio Salado and she told me that the Nursing Program has been eliminated. Those students that are already in it will continue until graduation, but due to the economy and budget cuts, Rio Salado's Nursing program has been one of those that were cut. It's sad, but that's why a lot of people are going the quick and expensive route... Private schools that offer BSN's. Good Luck and I wish you well.

Hi,

I am preparing for the HESI A2 exam to get into Maricopa Skill center for the Practical Nursing program.Any one had any idea about how to prepare for the exam and how to achieive a good score and get into the college. Please let me know if you any information about how to study and what to study.I am so tensed

I heard that Rio lost it's accreditation, so it was eliminated at least for the time being.
