LPN Program on weekends or nights

I have a B.S. in elem. ed and currently teach 5th grade in a city in the w. valley. I decided I would like to obtain a LPN certificate so that I am marketable in the Detroit area again. I plan on staying in AZ until I become a LPN and then returning to Detroit.

Long story short, what programs are there in the area that will allow me to still teach? I was looking into one at Gateway Community College that is on weekends and weeknights. How difficult is it to get in? Wait list?

I still have to teach because that is the only way I can support myself at this point, and I live alone. So what is the best route that will lead to a LPN certificate?

I am interested in Gateway, but is it realistic that I can get in for next fall? It looks like they require a nurse assistant course as a pre-req? But, I noticed that all the night/weekend ones are full for winter. :confused:

You can get your CNA on the weekends. Check out RSAA. Then you can apply the next round at gateway. Good luck!

What is RSSA? I am signed up to take the CPR for healthcare providers over our fall break, and I also have a doctor's appointment for the vaccines and all that.

RSAA is a place in Mesa where you can get your CNA cert. I took my CNA there and it was 5 weekends. From what I hear, the LPN program still has openings and there is no wait....at least that is what I was told when I called.
