U.S.A. Arizona

Hello Fellow applicants!! :coollook:

I just figured we are so close tot he application deadline that all of us who have or planning to apply can have a current forum to join. Looking forward to seeing everyone who is in the same boat as I (and I know there are many of us) and I would like to hear what you think about the new application process.

I for one am happy that my grades get to speak for themselves and hold more weight then 1 essay did. What do you think??:nurse: :yeah:

Hey mamabear, I missed the March info session. I attended back in December. At that time, the July Banner co-hort was scheduled to be a part-time program. Is that still the case?

Good luck to you!

Yes it will be 2 nights a week for 4 hrs each like Mon/Wed 530-930pm at Gateway, and Sat and possible Sunday clinicals. This is a 24month program.

Thanks mambear! Did they mention how far in advance to start getting immunizations? Have you already started, in anticipation of getting into the program, or do you wait until you get accepted.

Sorry for all the questions. I need to dig my notes out from December so I can get my questions together for the next info session!

I'm excited for you to be at this point. Wish you all the best!

I don't recall the info about immunizations, but I figure if I get offered a spot they will tell me what I need, and I'll just go get it taken care of. I am not worried about that part, I think we should be finding something out about interviews no later then by the end of April and hopefully will make a decision about who to accept by mid May, even with the application extension. Because what they did say at The March info session was that if they had 150 meet the academic and NET/HESI requirements they might only interview 50, so the chances of getting an interview might be a bigger deal then before, not sure, and I don't think they are quite sure themselves, since this will be the first cohort tried on this new system. I just really hope I can standout enough to get in. I wish you luck also. Its fun to find people with similar interests on here and share our concerns and worries with.;)

I look forward to seeing the new application for Banner when I attend the next info session. Is there a place on the new application where you show your grades for the pre-reqs, or do they just hunt and peck through the transcript to find them?

When in your timestamp with Maricopa? Mine is in mid April 2009.

No place on the new app to show your pre-reqs.... They just want to see all your transcripts. I do wonder how many applicants are applying and what they are weighing most heavily... (besides critical thinking)

My time stamp is 10/16/09 around 8:06am, so it would be nice if I don't get in with Banner this July I could hopefully get in Spring

Does anyone know how your contacted about a interview for the fellow's program? My status page says all you can do is wait for a letter from Banner. I never knew they contacted you through letter for a interview, I always thought it was by phone or email. Does anyone have any insight on that?

Thank you

Hi Crystal74

I friend of mine got selected for an interview and he was contacted by phone. Everyone will then get an e-mail once the selections are made. The e-mail will tell you whether you were selected or not. I hope this helps.

Good Luck to you!

patientlywaiting, was this for a previous cohort or for the July cohort they were interviewed for?

This was for a previous cohort. It took about 3 weeks after the application deadline for my friend to be called by Banner, so don't give up hope if the phone call doesn't come right away.
