Good Sam

U.S.A. Arizona

I am a new grad and I just got offered a job in Neuro ICU at Good Sam. I am really excited about this but does anyone have opinions on Good Sam.

Also I am looking for an apartment and I am thinking about Colonial Del Sol on South 19th or Mathew Henson Apartment on West tonto. Are those good areas or should I look elsewhere.

Specializes in generalMedical surgical; MICU/SICU/CVICU.

I moved to AZ also to work at Good Sam. There is a girl I work with who works one month on the neuro ICU and the next month in the med-surg ICU who is also a fairly new graduate. She said she rotates because she likes variety. From what I hear the neuro ICU is a good place to work. I can tell you from experience though, stay far far far far far away from the med surg ICU on 11ab. I worked there and got out after 6 months. I transferred across the hall to 11cd, and it is a million times better. the staff on 11ab is totally ridicilous. I can speak from experience from working other places besides good sam, i would not recommend that 11ab to my worst enemy. Good luckon neuro ICU

Look elsewhere, go more north, way more north. Good places to live in the Good Sam area are few and far between.

Specializes in cardiac med-surg.

good luck

Stay away from those two areas that you mentioned. They are not considered safe in any way shape or form.

You are not going to find anything close to Good Sam that you would consider safe.

Specializes in NICU.

Definitely look elsewhere. When I worked at County (just a couple miles down the street from Good Sam), security told us there were 13 known gangs in and around that area, yikes!

Go north or east ..... or even more downtown if you need to be relatively close to the hospital. Good luck!
