Curious about Queem Creek

I have been scanning the real estate for phoenix area.

I am just curious if I could get some info on the Queen Creek area. I see some cheaper newer houses for sale. If anyone can shed some light on this subject it would be appreciated.

Terrible city to commute from. They ARE in the process of widening roads out that way, as well as bringing in a freeway. As it stands now, when I drove through there (against traffic thank goodness) during rush hour one morning, I clocked over TEN MILES of cars at a virtual stand-still.

One of the cheapest areas for housing in the metro area though. Not a lot of business out that way but it's growing. Rapidly.

I was out there last weekend for the monthly pumpkin festival at Schnepfs (sp?) Farm. Lots of new home construction and single lane roads with stop signs. I saw one traffic light and it was an inexpensive mobile unit. I saw one sign listing new homes at the upper $100,000s.

I live out in Queen Creek. We bought our house last year and were really nervous about the commute because we had heard from sooo many people that it was horrible. It's not. The backups are nearly gone - the longest you're going to wait at the worst light (Hunt Hwy/Ellsworth) is ten minutes. No big deal. Don't let it deter you - I really like it out here! The schools suck though, so if you have kids you may want to look at getting them into Higley schools or Gilbert ones. Mine goes to a charter school not far away and it's worth the ten minute drive to take her there.

Me too! I can't believe that they are putting nice homes out there! I used to live in Florence, will that meet up with Phoenix soon as well?

Were planning on moving out to Az (chandler, mesa, Queen Creek area) at the end of May. Our daughter will be in 7th grade, this might sound stupid but what is the difference in the charter schools, and regular schools? We dont have charter schools in Iowa. I have heard Queen Creek schools are not the best due to full classrooms, etc. How do you pick a charter school?

Just bought a house there myself. It's quite a drive to the city, but the development out there is growing rapidly, making it easier to get what you need without going all the way to town. House prices are on the down slope so that's that's main reason why we moved there. The air out there seems cleaner, and it just seems like a real nice community. There are a ton of houses for sale around Johnson Ranch. That's where we bought ours. Any other questions, PM me.

Pick one that doesn't have a 29 year old posing as a 12 year old!!
