Anyone heard of ITT Tech Nursing program

U.S.A. Arizona

Published

I am going to a nursing seminar at ITT Tech in Phoenix. It is new and was wondering if anyone has heard anything about it?

I considered going to ITT Tech when I initially found out that they had a RN program. I even went as far as filling out the application and submitting all my information. This was until I read the section on tuition and found out it was about 500 dollars a credit hour. The program in total was about 56,000 dollars. I am sorry but I do not want to start my career and life out owing that much money that is ridiculous.

Of course courses from other, "regular" colleges and universities will transfer into ITT -- the issue is, will courses taken there transfer anywhere else. In many (most?) cases, the answer is no.

The program at ITT just started, so lets just see what happens, everyone can assume anything but no one really knows what the outcome is going to be with the transfer credits. As a student at ITT Tech we have inquired about transfer credits-who knows if all is well they may start a BSN program!

It does not matter if the credits will transfer or not if you possess your RN. The RN will autmatically give you ADN undergrad credits.

Anyone heard of RN to BSN??? Not toomany ADN to BSN programs out there....

Besides the accreditation issues, I cannot fathom paying the outrageous tuition for one of these private ADN programs, particularly when the job market for new grads in AZ is horrendous.

I paid $40k to become a RN a year ago.

I made $35k as a CNA, I become a RN 1-2 years sooner than I would have at the community colleges. I make $96k a year now.

I have a $21k net profit and 1 year extra experience do to the fact I went to private school.

Just depends on everyone's situation. Financially paying a bit more may be a smart idea in the long run. An ADN from CC is waiting just as long as an ADN from private. Only difference is that private ADN gets to stand in line a year earlier.

35K as a CNA??? That is WAY higher then I have ever seen for a CNA. Where do you work? And 96K as an RN right out of school also sounds very high. I guess I need to work where you live now that I have my RN.

Stop hating on itt tech. Four year universities say the same thing about community college nursing programs. Its not the school that makes a great nurse. I have seen horrible community college nurses. I would not even let them touch my dog. Lol.. so quit hating. Do you hate your life that much you have to go on a web site and bash other programs.

Hating?? My wife call several hospitals in Evansville, IN and asked if they hire ATT grads. They all said "NO" and that it was a useless degree.

Even people with gpa's of 3.8 are on waiting lists. Then once you finally get in another 2 to 4 years to finish the program. Not including the the 1 to 2 years of pre reqs. That is between 5 to 10 years of school not making money

CHW as a CNA and I would not like to disclose my current employer. 96k is on the higher side for a RN, but that is what I am making and I am a tier 1 RN at my facility (lowest pay grade) lol.

Call the main nurse recruiter for Deaconess and ask them if they will hire someone with a degree from ITT.
