Any ideas for externing?

I would like to start externing after this block (block 2). I've been looking online for openings and it seems like they're filled before they even come up on the website. Unfortunately, I have to do my clinicals at a hospital that's so far away I can't extern there. I'd like to work at a hospital near my house, either Banner Desert or Chandler Regional, but I don't do any of my clinicals there and haven't had a chance to 'network'. Any suggestions on getting an externship at one of these hospitals?

Are you familiar with externing at Banner?

I'd like to extern at either Banner Desert or Chandler REgional, they're both pretty close to me. It just seems like extern positions aren't posted that often and if they are they've pretty much already been filled. I'm going to stop by HR this week and try to talk to them and see what I can do. Do you have any suggestions?

Hi Keli,

I spoke with the recruiter on monday and she said that they will be posting more extern positions in Dec/Jan.....Rumour has it that they are also going to be hiring externs at Mercy Gilbert as well.....
