2-Step Test

  1. Hi!

I haven't been able to find a place to get a 2-step, boosted TB test. The list on the Maricopa Nursing site is outdated. Could someone who has recently had the test tell me where they had it done? Thank you!

This is a rather expensive route though. They charge ~$30 for administering the test and another $30 to read the results. If you have the time/patience find a local clinic that will do the complete TB test for $25-30 each.

Yeah, it was a suggestion though.

If you have a primary care dr, they should be able to do it/order it for you. My PCP has a lab in house, I told her I needed the 2 step TB for school and that was it.

You can also go to your local health department building. It's incredibly cheap. For some it's free.

The Walgreens clinics also do them. If you have insurance you pay a copay and they bill your insurance. From what I remember, you don't have to pay a copay for the 2nd appointment since they're just reading it.

I had been able to find the standard two-visit test--one injection, one reading--but not a place that did the boosted, four-visit test. It's irritating that everywhere I call says that isn't necessary, even though the Maricopa Nursing health forms say it is. The health department said they'd do it, but for $65. These titers, tests, and vaccines are becoming really expensive.

I'll check some of the places you've all mentioned. Thanks!
