We are an ambulatory infusion center. During the week we see a lot of patients, however, on the weekends we only do the infusions that have to be done every day. (IV abx)

We have one RN that comes in if there are 10 or less patients, an MA that comes in to help from 10-13, and 14+ there are 2 RNs. We split the patients up if there are a lot so that everyone doesn't show up at once.

Are there any staffing rules regarding this? What are the legal aspects of having a nurse in an office infusing all by herself? Anyone know?

    Thanks!
