Starting up a new office

    I'm an RN and making a move from working at a very large multi-practice clinic where many different departments handled various functions of the clinic, to a small, 2-doctor, family practice/OB office that is just setting up practice. Any advice from anyone that has knowledge in this or any information on reference materials that are available would be greatly appreciated.

    This sounds like alot of fun! Your organizational skills will be imperitive now- Make sure that your different departments have their set duties to perform and you will do great! There is a group called "Well Connected" that offers many pt. teaching materials that have become invaluable to my office. Also, we do have an automated phone system that has proven to help tremendously-people can go directly to the needed depatment to get their questions answered quickly-be careful not to make the choices to difficult though...your pts will get very frustrated if they cannot understand it!
