Insurance Reimbursement

by irishrn

I'm an RN working in a 2 Physician Family Practice Office. My Doc went to a coding/reimbursement meeting last week and he said that many of the services I perform-wound care, injections, BP checks etc are reimburseable under a nursing visit. I would like to pursue this so that we can maximize reimbursement for services we perform--do any of you have specific information or are presently coding for these visits? Looking forward to hearing from you. I am working toward my CDE and am aware of the new reimbursement for outpatient diabetic teaching. But at this time, I'd like to look at other areas.Looking forward to hearing from you.

Where do you live irishrn? I would love it if it were true that MD offices would get paid for nursing visits!! Right now, when people come in for a BP check, they HAVE to see the MD or NP or we don't get paid!! Let me know of any info you have! Thanks!
