ICU nurse wants job in Ambulatory Orthopaedic Surgery Center

  1. 0 I am a BSN, CCRN with 2 years ICU experience. My dream job is to work in an outpatient surgery center and a new orthopaedic clinic has just opened where I live. I sent the HR manager an email with my resume but haven't gotten a response. What is the best way to follow up? I am worried my application wasn't even looked at. I have experience preparing and recovering critically ill patients from the OR. I know 2 years is not that much experience but rotating nights-days and driving an hour to the hospital is killing me. What can I do to strengthen my application or make it stand out?

perhaps a hard copy resume with cover letter in the mail requesting for a brief meeting? i think that would be a little better then email only. good luck
