Doc's signature

  1. Tell me something, does your doctor allow you to have a stamp of his/her signature? If so, what do you use it for? Are you and/or your boss worried that it could be misused? Who has access to it?

My boss doesn't have one and I'm wondering if I should ask him for one. It could be kept under lock and key if he wants and would only be used for things like sending off lab reqs or for referral forms.

I use a signature stamp in my office and use it frequently during the day. I have a checklist for the doctors of what medications and test they want so I use the signature stamp for them. It saves time for the doctors and gives you proof that the doctor ordered it.

My front office uses it for dictation too.

I find it essential in our office. I guess there is a chance that someone will misuse it but that is a chance guess the doctor will have to take.
