Certifications for Staff
- 0Jun 19, '08 by Butterfly62I work in an ASC and currently only our CRNAs and RNs need their certifications for BLS, ACLS, and PALS. Our physicians are not required to obtain any certifications. This doesn't make sense to me. Should'nt they at least need BLS?
Thanks for your help!
- 0Jun 27, '08 by Butterfly62I know. Crazy, isn't it? We only have surgeons and CRNAs (no anesthesiologist). It's a very small, privately-owned practice, and our accredidation requires either an anesthesiologist or CRNA. The surgeons are requiring the RNs and CRNAs to be certified--and not them. I've never been in a code where the doc doesn't run it. I'm not comfortable with this at all!
