I am currently working in an Outpatient cardiology clinic as an RN. I am fairly new to the position and did not have anyone there to guide me along the way when I took over the position. They hired me after the other RN retired. Anywho-- My clinic is within the hospital setting and the nurse is required to see patients who are admitted to the hospital under CCU protocol. My problem is, I do not know exactly what my role should be.
I know medication reconciliation should be on my list of to do's, smoking cessation, lipid control, exercise (rehab if indicated), but dietary is also consulted so feel it is there responsibility to do that part. Any suggestions on how I should handle these consults??
