First of all, I would like to say I love allnurses! Over the past 3 years, because of the many nurses who come here, I have received much valuable information and learned alot which has enhanced my career greatly. I have also enjoyed lively debate and met alot of very interesting people from all over. This is easily the best nurse message board out there.
As good as it is, allnurses could improve by being more sensitive to all posters. I think the mods do a great job in trying to keep allnurses a friendly and accepting environment for all members. Still, it's the responsibility of everyone that comes here to respect the opinions and feelings of others. I am willing to bet the number of premium members would increase if all members would practice a little more respect and consideration towards others, especially the newer members. Sometimes, we are very fervent in our opinions about things and don't mean to offend, but opposing posts can be taken alot harsher and feel more like a personal attack than the poster may have ever intended. I guess what I am saying is that we could all practice a little more kindness toward one another at times and realize the impact of our words may be greater than intended.
