That is what I originally assumed, however, I can't do that. It is underlined as if it is a link, but when I click on it...nothing happens.

Could that be a result of the fact that I use Mac OS 3.9 instead of Windows OS? Sometimes, I experience some compatability issues...
I'm not sure if there is a compatability issue or not? The link that it should send you to is this: http://allnurses.com/forums/usercp.php

see the attached image. Hope that helps

    Hate It!
These types of short comments, without reasoning are not really helpful. We are attempting to improve the users experience, we are open to ideas to help make this more enjoyable to you. Thanks

I do not like the new USER CP function. Before, you could click directly on "User CP" once, and it would bring up both the subscribed threads as well as the User control panel and all related functions (private messages, edit profile, edit options...etc).

Now, you have to click on "User CP", the drop down menu appears, and then click again on "User Control Panel", which shows you the subscribed threads and User CP functions. It just seems like an extra click that provides no function. Why click on the drop down menu if clicking on User CP alone (as done before) took me to the same place with all the same functions?!?

My vote is to get RID of the drop-down menu, and return to having a "one-click User CP" button. One click, not two, to get us where we really want to go, which is our subscribed threads. If one click gets us to everything we need, why even bother having two?!?

take a look at the attached image, just click the link with the pointers. That should take you to the page you want to goto. Hope that helps.

re-read my post carefully. i'm not trying to be short with you, but i know how to use the user cp function. i just don't like how it works now! before (and now i am actually second guessing myself....), you could click once and it would take you to the user control panel....list of subscribed threads with new posts, private messages, user options, etc. now, you must click twice--once to access the drop-down message, and again to access the desired area of the user cp. like i said, i am second guessing myself now, but i thought that before the upgrade (a few months now?!?), you could click once to get to the user cp and all associated functions. this thread is for comments on the forum software upgrade....well, my comment is that i don't like the drop-down menu to access the user cp. if this has always been this way (which i'm thinking i'm right in saying it has not), i think it just adds an extra click that is unnecessary. this function can be accomplished with one click. it is annoying to have to click twice. that's just my opinion. do with it what you will. it's not like i'm going to stop coming to allnurses because of this, but you are asking for opinions and comments, and i thought i would give you my constructive view on something that i think is a step back in user-friendliness. otherwise, i am really happy with the forum, and i have learned a lot browsing here. thank you for working to improve the forum and for the great content!

No problem, thanks for your feedback, I misunderstood your question. You are correct, you used to just have to click once and it would take you to the usercp.

But we had tons of people asking how to do many of the other options, so we created the pull down menu, which has slowed down technical questions for those issues dramatically So for now, you'll have to have double click You could always bookmark or add the page to your favorites?

Thanks again for your feedback, we like to hear feedback

Haha...thanks! I guess I'm just kind of impatient! I want to get to those subscribed threads ASAP! I appreciate that you guys are so helpful, though, and so quick to provide feedback! This is really a great site!

    Hi,

I just noticed that you have changed the User CP function back to one-click access. It is SO much more convenient! THANK YOU!!!

Anyway, thanks and keep up the good work!

I have a small problem with getting started. I would prefer that my state of practice not show under my Avatar. I can't find a place where this can be removed. I would like to use something more general/regional. Could someone help with this?

    Hello, Bonnie Nurse,

You can edit your profile as follows:

1 - Go to "quick links" above and to the right.
2 - Scroll down to "edit profile"
3 - Scroll down to "registration required information - all fields are required"
4 - Remove any information in the area, "country"
5 - Scroll down to "additional information"
6 - Remove any information in "location"

You can make other changes/additions/deletions while in the "edit profile" option.

    Hope this helps.
