I have a question: For the student membership, do you have to be a NURSING student or can you be a PRENURSING student who is starting school in fall '05 or fall '06 (depending on if anyone drops the '05 program)? Im taking my A&P I final tonite and starting A&P II on Monday in hopes to get in the fall'05 program. I want to be honest when picking my membership price .

PS I know its not a big difference in price, but with school, bills and a child every dollar counts.

    Thanks

I thought membership was free? I wanted to reply to others posting today and I thougt could reply, but it tells me I have to be a premium memember. I would like to know why

You can post for free on most threads, but there is a premium member section. If you are not a premium member you can read the posts in that section, but cannot post on them.

I love this whole site. I've been so busy that I have not had the time to really explore mary threads, but something got me going this year, and I wanna join. I'll have to send you a check. But I'm so pleased with the concept of a nursing site... I just love it. Thanks so much.

    Hello,

Can the premium Membership have other informative information for us to view? Such as having a round table meeting about the issues concerning the nursing profession or how to improve your nursing skills and etc. If we can add really good topics that can grab the attention of other members to join as well. I would love to see new items or threads that can be educational and career goals. Therefore, Enhancing the premium sites would be greatly appreciated and presenting things that are not discuss in the other forums and threads.

No, I do not mind giving money for a good cause at all. I just would like to improve on the things available to us as nurses. For example have a night watching a show and discussing it. Something ....

    Have a great evening

Thanks for your ideas. Will add them to the list for suggested improvements to the Premium member area. Planned upgrade is first quarter 2006.

I so totally object to this whole idea.

Information about nursing needs to be free, must be free on this board.

Premium membership should give us the ability to interact in or play with the "fun" or "superfluous" parts of this board, such as the breakroom, current events, games, chat, photo galleries, etc.

Reading the premium membership forums should be accessible to all.

The entire board is devoted to, among other things, sharing professional information and support. The previous poster suggests that this should only exist for "paying customers."

You will never get everyone to pay for membership. Many just can't afford it. We are over 100,000 members now, many from foreign countries, many from so-called "third world" nations. What we pay for membership can be a month's pay for them.

To deprive them--or any of us-- of access, because of a failure to pay, to anything that improves the quality of nursing skills and hence the overall development of our profession on a global level is unconscionable.

    .

It's a privilage for it to be free here, however, i completely disagree that it must be free. That's really in the hands of the administrator.

As much bandwidth that's required now, i wouldn't be surprised if it all cost something someday
