don't be bitter, it doesn't become you. you've spent hours here posting to games and welcoming people, to see you like this is disappointing, when the site remains free and the premium membership optional. but do what you have to do and best wishes to you.

allnurses.com bb settings are chosen by members upon account registration. anyone having difficulty using our bb options, can contact the moderators or admin team listed under grey toolbar nursing discussions
    http://allnurses.com/forums/showgroups.php? for assistance.

seeing that you've posted over 5000+ posts nursebedlam, i changed your thread settings to "no email notification". accounts are closed by members request or at brian's direction due to spaming/troll, not following tos, etc. we don't delete posts upon closing accounts as interrupts thread flow.

since this is a new change for the bb, why don't you see how things go after janurary 1st? only two forums: the break room and current events are moving to the premium member area with post ability limited to premium members while genenral membership allows view only ability. the other 150+ forums are open to all members to view and post.

not all posts are read by the mod + admin team so its important for our members to use our site feedback forum for quickest attention. if you still desire closure, please send message using site feedback area.

okay, put aside the knee-jerk "she's got a premium membership, what does she care," okay?

when i first saw the changes, i was pretty annoyed too. this bb means a lot to me, more, the people and the interaction mean a lot. i live in a fairly (by american standards) remote situation, i have little interaction with people other than the dh unless i go into town, and i don't go into town often. i do spend a lot of time online, and most of that time is spent here. the people here aren't like my friends, they plain old are my friends.

you know, i've always thought of this bb as being like brian's home. we are invited guests. he has asked little in return, other than that we pretty much behave ourselves.

and we have gotten very comfortable with his hospitality. in effect, all he's really asking is for us to chip in a little toward waht amounts to the site's chips and dips.

yeah, i know there's ads, and certainly there might be reason to be a bit annoyed at having to "endure' both, but bottom line is, this is brian's "house." i had just about figured i wanted to buy a premium membership when someone i don't even know very sweetly gave me one. so i gave someone else one.

my big deal was i wanted to be able to do the christmas card thing again. i'd've been willing to pay up, and i'd not have had any resentment about it.

but it took me a couple of weeks to get my head there.

as for this costing aussies more, this is not so. it costs aussies the same as canadians, the same as u. s. americans (i understand canadians get a bit irked when we call ourselves americans, since they are here in north america too), the same as filippinos.

only the numbers are different because the currency exchange rates translate the same value into the currency in question, in this case australian dollars.

here--see if this makes sense. we buy some of our pet products online from an australian supplier. the costs are quoted in australian dollars, and the currency exchange function on the site tells us how many us dollars our credit card will be charged. the value is the same, the numbers are only different because the units of value are different.

if your patient is to get one ounce of something, and instead you give him 29.573529563 ccs, have you overdosed him? no, of course not. same difference.

bedlam, i hope you will stick around. i understand if you don't, but you can still post your welcomes to the introduction thread like you have..... for free.

I can't believe some of the responses on here. If you don't want to pay, then don't!

Yes, hosting a website like this DOES cost quite a bit of money. I know this from experience!! To threaten not to come back because 2 non-nursing forums are now for premium only? and my signature is gone now too? hmmmm....a little childish to me.......

BRIAN......I'm joining as soon as I post this!
