Good point, Marie. I can see a public reprimand being a potential catalyst for mobbing.

Shouldn't this be handled just as it would in the workplace...in private? I've even thought that the "reason for edit" at the bottom of the post was not necessary. I don't care if the OP wants to explain, but if a mod. deletes something d/t violation of TOS/whatever, I don't think that needs to be public knowledge. "Edited by moderator" would be explanation enough, IMO. Most of the time people have a pretty good idea why a post was edited by a mod., anyway.
I initially thought it was a good idea until I too say a "Warning" sign in red on a person's post. I think it needs to be private.

Speaking of editing - no reasons necessary, I agree.

Oh, a little peeve of mine - no big deal but it drives me a bit crazy to have to think of a title to my pm's to folks . . . you can't send unless it has a title.

Otherwise - I think all the mods and Brian are doing a good job (it is a hard job too).

I am fairly new to All Nurses. I can understand that there has to be rules I am a Mod on several boards but I think you will find that people will not respond well to getting warned publicly. And you will loose members, no doubt.
IMO (as a Mod) I think some of these ideas are great . Its hard to catch things when there are thousands of posters and only a hand full of Mods. Believe me I know!! However I do not think you should put the stop signs etc on the public boards. Its really elementary we are not 10 years old here! I think members will get sick and tired of getting warnings, especially if they are stupid ones. With that being said..... I am just a member here, not a Mod so I am not going to say anything else unless I am asked. Other than please watch out for trolls. They can cause sooooooo many problems. Enuff said

    Thanks Brian.

Thanks Marie, I didn't like the public display either, but didn't say it because I was irritated with the mods for closing a thread and didn't want to look like a bitter sourpuss. Glad to find out someone spoke up and it wasn't just me who felt that way.

Been too busy the past few weeks to be here much, so still catching up on what I've missed.. this being one.

I totally agree with the others on "being spanked in public" and glad to see this will no longer be the case. Other than that, I'm fine with it.
