allnurses Reaches 800,000 Member Milestone

In a press release published today, it was announced that allnurses.com reached a major milestone this past weekend. We have now exceeded 800,000 registered members!

I know all of you will join me in expressing congratulations and appreciation to Brian, who had the vision almost 20 years ago to create a site where nurses and nursing students can network, share, and learn from one another. While the site has undergone many changes since the early days, this goal and mission has remained the same.

We thank all of you......our wonderful members. We appreciate your support and participation. It is you who make allnurses what it is today.

We look forward to our next huge milestone of one million members! I hope many of you hang around for that celebration!!

Here is the press release as it was published...

allnurses.com Reaches 800,000 Member Milestone

Engaged and Growing User-Base Provides Unmatched Peer-To-Peer Support

EXCELSIOR, MN, April 10, 2014 - allnurses.com, the largest online community and peer-to peer networking site for nurses and nursing students, announced it has surpassed 800,000 registered members. For nearly 20 years, allnurses.com has been the collective voice of the nursing community, supporting the profession by providing a place where nurses can network, share, and learn from each other.

allnurses-network.jpg"From day one, we knew that nurses needed a place to go to discuss the ups and downs of their jobs, and be able to share real life experiences, frustrations, and achievements," said Brian Short, Founder and CEO of allnurses.com. "The consistent growth of the allnurses.com network tells us we built the right resource and speaks to the important role it plays in the everyday lives of nurses and nursing students across the country, as well as around the world."

Ninety-nine percent of the content on allnurses.com is user-generated, and the site averages approximately 300 new users and topics per day. Topics range from personal stories to professional advice and questions. While anyone visiting the site can browse and search conversation threads, registration offers users additional functionality such as the ability to create favorite forums and subscribe to posts to receive automatic updates. There is also a private forum for registered nurse educators. Joining allnurses.com is free.

The allnurses.com network includes additional resources such as the Nurse Zine e-newsletter, and Facebook pages for allnurses.com and Nurses Rock. These allow followers to engage in conversation about serious nursing topics as well as more fun, lighthearted subjects. allnurses recently released a mobile redesign that enhances the overall mobile experience for its users and an app for Android and iOS devices allowing nurses to stay connected and find immediate answers and information they need while on-the-go.

Congrats! This is a wonderful site , and has helped me learn a lot and even make a friend! :)

This site changed my life!!! Thank you for it. I am a little surprised however how low the participation is for the Dakotas forums when the site originated in the neighbor State of Minnesota. Anyone has an idea of why is that? I would like this site to be know by all nurses in the USA and the World.

Wohooo! Congratulations to everyone.

Congratulations Brian and to all the moderators and guides. I've been a member since 2008 when I first started nursing school. This site has been a tremendous help to me. I'm happily addicted to this AN.com.

I received an email from a colleague at sister hospital wondering if I was NRSKarenRN at allnurses after sending some AN pens to them ....

That website got me through nursing school and I still utilize it today!! It truly is a great website and I recommend many to use it as well. I have read many of your posts. Your dedication to the site definitely makes it great. Thanks!!

Glad to have shared in Brians dream for the past 14 years and inspiring future generations of nurses.
