- 0Aug 10, '13 by jadelpn GuideI find it is sometimes an issue with wireless. If your family is all using wireless devices at the same time, it can slow the process to a standstill most times. If it is just you, be sure you check that your wireless is password protected, and no one else is on your wireless connection. The entire neighborhood was on mine, until I contacted my provider about how to protect it.
When my child is home from college and has laptops, kindles and phones all sucking up my wireless, I might as well be on a dial up. And if it takes a long time to load, it is that "goes to sleep after a minute" function that can also come into play if you are waiting for something to load and just leave the kindle untouched for the minute.
It drives me bonkers! There are some providers that will increase your broadband. (which is how many people can access your wireless at once). I would speak to them about it, and what if the benefit outweighs the cost. They can also send a refresh signal, and in some instances with all the wild and wooly weather different parts of the country have been having, it sometimes just needs a reset.
- 0Aug 10, '13 by thenursemandyThanks for the reply. I have high speed wireless internet. My laptop and husbands Ipad do fine using our wifi, and so does my Kindle.....until I get on Allnurses.com That's when after about 30 secs-minute reading a forum, the internet browser crashes and has to restart. It ONLY happens on this site. I like to use my Kindle in bed at night to get on allnurses, but it's useless.
I'll check into the cache/cookies clearing.
- 2Aug 11, '13 by Joe V Adminthis has been reported to Amazon many times by the Internet community - their browser just keeps crashing and not just on allnurses ... if you do a search on this many people are complaining about the same thing
I would suggest looking into any other browsers that may work on Kindle. Try Firefox or Dolphin browser ... I'm not sure if you can install Google Chrome but that would be my #1 suggestion.
