by brbowen9 Jan 15, '11Hello all,
I am planning a move to Alaska this August. I'm currently a sophomore in a BSN program but have not started my clinicals yet so switching programs isn't a huge deal. I'm planning on applying this week to meet the February 1st deadline, but I saw on another post that there is a waitlist. Us this true for both the associates and bachelors degree? I'm currently a 4.0 student, but I'm still concerned about being placed on a waitlist.
Any help would be great!

I'm not sure what your circumstances are but I would stick where I was if I were you. Even though I'm in there I am still trying to get in at other schools in OR and WA since I moved to OR a few years ago. I don't want to make a claim that you have no chance of going this fall but I had a good GPA as well. I think since it's the only nursing school in AK they have too many applicants than spots available, but that seems to be a common occurrence nationwide.
But there is no harm in applying...they may have a different policy for people transferring directly from another nursing program, good luck!
