by cpl_dvldog Feb 26, '12I am trying to find out some info for my son-in-law. I can find little information here about the Alabama School of Nursing in Tuscaloosa. Information such as what is actuallly required for Fall admission, GPA, work experience, and such.
He has spent the last 8 years as a Navy Corpsman and has all of his pre-reqs completed with a GPA of approx 3.3. They are moving back to this area and he is looking at UA and UAB. I found a lot of info here about UAB, but little about UA. On other forums I have read where UA prefers young, white, rich girls in its program. Does anyone know if this is true? Personally I would think his job as a Corpsman would just about guarantee him a spot, but you never know if a school puts more emphasis on GPA than work experience.

- Feb 28, '12 by cpl_dvldogI did. All I found was the minimums required. The minimum won't get you into most BSN programs. I was wondering if his time spent as a Navy Corpsman would boost his application more than him being a 28 yr old male will drag it down?
