- Apr 7, '11 by GualEriHey there!! Sorry for the late response, just now getting your post. But the interview went really well. I actually had it bumped up to this Monday and met with 2 faculty members who were super nice and very welcoming. The interview lasted a little over an hour and the next day got an acceptance email!!!! :-) I was couldn't believe how quick they emailed me. You have nothing to worry about. They ask the typical questions why nursing, what makes you a good candidate to be a nurse, asked about my finances (as far as how I intend to pay for school, nothing too detailed though), why the change in careers etc. What time is your interview?newRNstudent02 likes this.
- Apr 7, '11 by newRNstudent02Nicely done!! Yay on the acceptance!! Maybe, we'll be classmates! Mine is in the morning. I just hope it all goes over smoothly! Hopefully, I have good news to report back to you soon
Last edit by newRNstudent02 on Apr 7, '11 : Reason: :) - Apr 7, '11 by newRNstudent02by the way, how are you planning to pay for the program? I'm a little worried about this....loan? *yikes*
- Apr 7, '11 by GualEriThank you!! And I'm sure you are def going to get a letter too! Just be yourself, and show personality and be truthful with your answers. They all are really nice and take pride in knowing their students etc. Please keep me posted! As for paying for school, def gonna take out a loan, but I'm okay with that because I didn't have school loans in undergrad so if I have to this time around I'm going to try and take out the minimum. I hate debt! Lol. What about you? Also, any other acceptances? Are you really considering Samford? I know you had mentioned you also got a few other acceptances.
- Apr 7, '11 by newRNstudent02Yep, loans for me too. I hate private loans, but I guess there's no choice. Debt is no fun, but luckily, we'll be clear of it in no time! I'm still on the fence with Samford (mostly just about moving to Birmingham), but it would definitely be nice to be accepted. We'll see how this all plays out. What'd you think of Birmingham and the school?
- Apr 7, '11 by GualEriYep I totally agree! I definitely understand about moving to Birmingham, but I'm looking at it like where ever I go even if it's not the best location I can always leave as soon as I'm done, so I'll have to sacrafice for a little over a yr....but I know change can be a little scary, especially coming from two different states like Cali and Alabama lol. The campus was really pretty and easy to find once I got into town. It's located in their "suburbs" lol so it was in a good area and just a beautiful campus, I will give them that. The campus seemed a little quiet, but I didn't take a tour or walking around much. Just observed while I was ther for that hour and a half. It's always great to have options. I'm still waiting to hear back from a cple more schools so hopefully that will be soon.

- Apr 11, '11 by newRNstudent02Hi there!! Interview went great *phew* but I still haven't heard back from the school. It's kinda freaking me out! I think there might have been some concern with the pre-reqs I still have left-research and religion. I'm taking patho now (hate that class!). Have you made any decisions about Samford? I know you're still waiting on some more schools, but it would be great if we all went to school together! My other friend applied too and is waiting to hear good news as well! Keep me updated! And thanks for asking about the interview
