I can't remember what all the paper work is for; approval for drug screen, student conduct, etc. That part doesn't take long. They give you a packet when you get there and tell you to start filling out the papers while you wait for orientation to begin. So they take our photo for our ID badge at orientation? Do you remember what the paperwork is for?

- Nov 6, '12 by slturnerQuote from eacummings89I did mine last year at the Hoover Fire Department. It was free for me since I live in Hoover. However they never sent my card to me, I had to call several different people to finally get it.Where/when is everyone doing their CPR certification?
- Nov 9, '12 by BilliePDuring orientation at Shelby they mentioned that in a later semester we would have clinicals in Anniston? Does anybody know what those would be for? Thanks.

- Nov 9, '12 by slturnerQuote from BilliePNo idea about Anniston. That's the first I've heard of that. And for your question about the uniform, I got the nanotex. It is the thicker material so it's not as see through as the poplin, it also is spill and stain resistant.During orientation at Shelby they mentioned that in a later semester we would have clinicals in Anniston? - Nov 9, '12 by slturnerI had no idea that they would take photos on Wednesday. Sorry for saying that would be the first week of class, usually it is. Boy or boy did it take FOREVER!

That's okay
I plan on losing mine so I can get a new one one day when my hair looks decent lol
It was crazy to do it like that. I think I spent two hours standing in both of those lines.
It was during orientation that the mentioned Anniston as a clinical site in a later semester. Maybe that will change
I REALLY don't want to drive there.
So we will have class M-W and then lab for fundamentals on Th or Friday or maybe both sometimes? Do they have any open lab time for extra practice?
Is the nanotex hot? Is it less wrinkly? - Nov 12, '12 by slturnerQuote from BilliePYou'll have Fundamentals on Monday, Health Assessment on Tues (some times this will be a lecture, some times it will be a lab - ex. learning to give head to toe assessment; skin, reflexes, neurological, etc..) Pharamacology will be Wednesday - before you get into learning drugs you'll do drug calculations. The labs for fundamentals, they usually split it into two groups. You'll either get Thursday lab or Friday lab. There really isn't an open lab, but what you learn in lab is easy enough to practice at home or in study group. That's okay

I don't really know if the nanotex is hot compared to the other one. I can tell you that I definitley get hot during clinicals because there's never a moment when I wasn't moving. I do think that it is probably less wrinkly - because I could take my uniform out of the dryer and it would still have crease markes from the last time I ironed it :-) If you want to meet sometime I can bring my uniform so you can see. - Nov 12, '12 by nakatindiHey does anyone know if the codes for the books are mandatory? I am able to get these books from family which would be super cheap but getting codes is another thing? Is everyone going to purchase the bundle? Thanks!!
