I am Suz, I live in the Capitol City, & have been working as an RN (BSN) for 14+ years. I have experience in CCU, ED & home health. I also teach critical care clinicals for Auburn Universtiy as I am also an alumni (war eagle!). I have International Certification in Healing Touch as a Certified Healing Touch Practitioner (one of 5 in AL) & I have a small private practice here in this. I work FT in a local busy CCU as a charge nurse. I have another Certification nationally in Cardiac-Vascular Nursing.

I am married (14 years to HS sweetheart) & have 3 dogs & one kitty.

I run a support group for those people who are interested in Healing Touch. I also am on the Board of Dir. of American Heart Assn. locally. I love to volunteer @ my church when I have time. I think the youth are awesome!!! I am on the council for a vocational school for those kids interested in health care careers! (this is how I got started 20 years ago!).

Thanks for starting the thread & hope more folks jump on! :D

I'll jump in too!

I'm in West Central Alabama and married to an Auburn fan. I came here from Georgia 3 years ago and many of the people I graduated high school went to Auburn.

I've been a nurse since 1991 and have spent most of my time in Maternal-Child areas (Mother-Baby Unit and Level III NICU). Oh how I love the babies! I've not been working since I moved here but am looking to get back into it very soon. (I've been tending to ill and dying family members during the past 3 years, but that's all behind me now and I pray nothing else like that comes up for a while.).

Last year I became a Reiki practitioner and I'd love to learn how to do Healing Touch one day! I'm very interested in complementary therapies and feel the future is brighter because of all we can do holistically to help one another heal and/or be comfortable.

Glad to meet everyone!

welcome, Tiki

I am a brand-new nurse. Just graduated this past May and past boards in July. I live in No. Alabama and work on med-surg floor. Some days are great and some days I wonder how I ever made it in nursing school as I feel that I don't know a thing about nursing!! I'm told this will ease with time. Hope that is true!!! Sometimes this profession called nursing is very over-whelming, but all in all I LOVE IT!! I would love to hear from other "brand new" nurses.......

I have been married for almost 10 yrs, have 12 and 14 yr old boys who are ALL boy! We love nascar, and baseball, and of course SEC football....... me and the boys are AUBURN fans, and dear ole hubby is a BAMA fan..... so you know the last week of Nov, is always interesting in my house!
