I have a relative who did work for Scrushy (privately) & for Healthsouth here in the Capitol City! Their were alot more than just scrushy involved. That is all I'll say about that!

Well, of course none of us is an island! Expecially no corporate one of us. I can see what happened to the Healthsouth stock, and thence to the Healthsouth corporation. But it seems that the "Buck" stopped with Mr. Schrushy, as the corporate head and founder. I know that several CFOs, CEOs, accountants, etc. have been involved. I was wondering whatever happened to Mr. Schrushy himself, after his personal assets were frozen, etc.

I work in Bham and I have also heard that UAB is considering buying the new hospital. I hadn't heard that Baptist was, though, and I was employed by them until a few months ago. They've had enough internal shakeups going on -- debating whether to go for profit, considering selling some of their facilities, etc -- that it's hard to imagine them being able to buy a new facility. Then again, I'm not on the Board of Directors, so who knows what they've discussed?

I too have heard that UAB was interested in the new hospital............. and I too also find it hard to believe that Baptist will be buying much of anything......... with all the things going on with the board firing members, planning on selling outlying hospitals, and some of the hospitals with hiring freezes....... it will be hard to see them buying the new hosp anytime soon.
