Anyone applying to calhoun community college spring 2015??

Ok.. now my hopes are up!!! I am registered so I am hoping that means we are all in!!!

How many points did you all have that got accepted? This is my first semester at Calhoun and I am finishing up 11 credits. I am unable to check and see if I am registered because I cannot register until Nov 19th or something. PLEASE let me know!!!!!! Congrats to all!

@northre234,

We do not know for sure that we are accepted, we only know that we were able to register for spring nursing classes. We are all just hoping that the fact that we could register (that the classes were not locked) means that we are in...HOPING! If you don't have over 45 credit hours you will have to wait to register until your date opens (depending on your amount of hours completed)....that does not mean you are not in....letters will be here soon, and then we will ALL know! Good luck, everyone! :)

I already have a Bachelor's Degree so I have a lot of credits that transferred in which is why I was able to priority register today. My points were 137 I think. It's funny how I was obsessed with the number and now I've already forgotten :laugh: but it was close to that. I bet they mailed them out today if the lady in the office said we would have them by the end of the week. I'm super hopeful for all of us! And for those who don't make it this time, don't give up! If this is something you want you will make it happen!

Oh by the way, if anyone is interested in volunteering for the Red Cross let me know. It's always a great idea to pad your resume with volunteer work when it comes to the job hunt (for those of us that aren't already working in healthcare). I will be volunteering as a Community Heath Educator and Volunteer Coordinator for the Decatur chapter and we are in need of people who can help out either on a regular basis or even for special events like blood drives, fundraisers etc.!

Also, I have 162 pts....this is my second application (I was 11 pts short for Fall because I had not taken Micro)....hope that helps And for anyone who doesn't make it this time....TRY AGAIN!!!! The wait didn't kill me like I thought it would :)

Any letters today? :yes:

No. This is getting extremely annoying. It has been 6 weeks and they say 4-6 weeks. Shortstaffed or not, still not right. It is a college. They should get this all figured out.... or don't publish the 4-6 week thing. Am I overreacting? It is just annoying.

@northre234 I personally don't think you are overreacting. I agree short staffed or not they have an obligation to fulfill. I have spoken to other people about it and they too feel like it is a little on the ridiculous side. My mom reminded me that now all of the mail around here has to go to Birmingham first, so even if you live in Decatur, the mail from Calhoun is going from Decatur to Bham back to Decatur supposedly. Either way it's super annoying :nurse: and I swear if they schedule our orientation anywhere near Thanksgiving break (I can just see them scheduling it for the Friday before or something while I plan to be out of town) I'm going to be super irritated. I know being annoyed and irritated doesn't do any good but we are only human lol

If they were mailed out today, then we should receive them tomorrow and I agree with you all; this is very frustrating! :no:

I am thinking they will be here next week...... We will have to wait (even more) and see. Ridiculous

Got it!...and I got in!!!!! Times seem to be off on this forum so it's 11 am on Saturday. Again, I had 162 applying for ADN day. Orientation is Dec 5th 8am-12pm. Letters of acceptance needs to be returned by Nov 10th 5pm. It does not say the point cut off. It does say that you may not register until all paperwork has been completed (ie. health exam forms and CPR cert.)...so that is weird since I already registered! Background and drug test info will be provided at orientation. Good luck everyone, I hope to see you all there!
