U.S.A. Alabama

Hey...! I was accepted into ITT-Tech's Breckenridge School of Nursing for June 2014. Just want to reach out to anyone already in the program or that's about to start. Do you think we'll be able to find employment once we graduate and will we be able to continue our education? Any advice will help...! Thanks!

I know this is an old thread but I did graduate from Madison's Itt tech program march 2014. I passed my boards may 14th. I got a job June 3rd. There was 2 others who graduated with me who found employment immediately. It is certainly possible to find employment. However, if you want to work in a hospital I highly suggest you getting your cna when they say u can and work as one to get experience and your foot in the door. I didn't so it took me longer than others to get a job. And the hospitals never called me for an interview. Good luck. It's a lot of work but it's worth it!

I am attending ITT in Madison, the Nursing program in September. I have heard a lot of negative about ITT and not being accredited. I seen in your previous post you passed. Any advice? And to confirm, you did get your License in alabama?

I am in Michigan (our Breckinridge campus is in Canton, MI) but I was accepted last year and decided not to attend for a few reasons (nursing rep. said they would transfer most of my community college pre-reqs in, but the registar only transferred in 3 / the fact that they were not seeking any further accreditation except for the state board / I work for a major hospital system here in Detroit that does not hire their grads) and for an ADN (not BSN) I was not willing to pay.

They did offer me a pretty hefty scholarship, but I want to continue my education and retaking most of those pre-reqs was not an option for me.

If you are pretty sure you will not go on for your BSN, then I think ITT would be a good choice for you. If you plan on going further...I would make sure there was a school near you that would accept their credits.
