I'll be taking A & P II this summer. Can't wait to find out if I get in for the fall. The waiting is hard! From what I heard, for the first two semester the ADN's and LPN's are taking the same courses.

I heard that announcements go out in June. But I'm not sure if that is correct or not. The sooner the better! Then we will all know what we will or should be doing next. Until then we will all be waiting around

I'm itching to get started. I haven't done much other than sit around since I lost my job and I'm very excited about taking classes this summer, just so I can have something to do!

From the looks of the fall schedule on Web Advisor, it looks like they are taking 300 students during the day and 50 students for the evening classes.

I do wish you luck! I am in the Calhoun program right now and my best advice to you is apply other places! They have changed alot in the last year and the program has suffered. I don't want to discourage you I just don't want anyone to go threw what my class has been through. I really do wish you luck!

What has changed?? Calhoun is the only place I applied to...I'm so nervous. When I first started looking at the program late last summer I heard nothing but good about the program. Now I'm hearing that a lot of things have changed for the worse. I'm starting to question my decision. I will start my first A&P class this summer....

good luck to everyone.

From what I heard, they went in & made some changes because people weren't passing the NCLEX & such like they were supposed to be. When I was at Wallace State, we couldn't make below a 75 on any of our tests for clinicals because they set the goal at what you had to make to pass the X-ray registry. I heard changes were made for the better of the program, but I guess we'll wait & see.

Yeah they started making changes because they have been put on probation with the AL board of nursing b/c their NCLEX scores were bad. Things did need to be changed, but speaking to students like we are children and treating us like we are such an inconvenience. They don't answer our questions and they don't teach, they just read us the book. I really do hope you have a better experiance than we have had:( Honestly good luck

As far as the teaching manner, it sounds like the x-ray program at Wallace. They either read from the book, or I remember in our physic classes being split into groups of four and assigned chapters that we have to teach our classmates.

I'm missing too many of the classes that UAH wants to be able to get into the Spring program, but I'll just see how things go.

I appreciate your input and maybe they've learned a thing or two. You are transferring to UAH aren't you?

Do you know if they are still planning to accept 300 this fall? And do you mind if I ask how many points you had?

Also, how difficult is A&PI? I'm missing my last day of high school for my first day of class, ha!

Yeah I am going to UAH in the fall, that was always my plan but I'm so thankful now. I am sure they are still accepting 300 in the fall and I had 70ish out of 90 points (I think that is right). Sometimes if you don't get in to the RN they will ask if you want in to the PN program instead. A&P just depends on the instructor but the first one is worse than the second b/c you have to memorize lots of stuff. Nothing is really hard concepts just alot on info at one time. Hope this helps.:)
