Mobile Nurses

by Tgirl27

Hi all,
We're a military family moving to Pensacola early next year. I'm considering working in Mobile. I'm an RN with 5 years experience (med-surg, L&D, postpartum). I would love any up-to-date info on the working conditions in the local hospitals in Mobile. Would love Info on shift diffs and prn pay. I am familiar with the area because we were stationed in P'cola back in '98 and my husband grew up in Mobile and his family lives there. Thanks in advance. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Providence starts new grads about $20-21ish. Diff is $2.50 nights and $2.00 weekends, I think. YMMV since you have prior experience.

Thanks for the info Dansamy,
I think new grads start around the same here in Virginia, except there's a huge difference in shift diff It's $8 dollars for nights here, ( only $1 more for weekend nights though) and day shift gets $8 for weekends. This info does help, so thanks a bunch for the reply.
