I would be very leery of this. Most reputable agencies refuse to hire new nurses and require a minimum of 1-2 years of MedSurg experience. I would not want to be thrown into a situation with no orientation or preceptor, whether a brand new nurse or seasoned vet. Please reconsider.

Hi Go to Hypodermichighway.com...they have the top ten nursing agency with questions to ask different agencys what they offer. I will warn you, each agency has their advantages and disadvantages, you need to ask questions and list your pros and cons of different agencies. I hope that will help you out.

I live in Charleston SC and ATC healthcare services is the best...The Maxim in Charleston is Horrible! Always different office staff bad customer service and they look out for them selves... They will accutally tell a client that you are coming in even though you turned down the shift... also it took almost two months for me and the other nurses to be payed back for parking thats over 500 dollars each.. They arent honest the say what they think you want to hear.

hello everyone,

I just wanted some advice, I am interested in persueing agency nursing in the state of Georgia. I live in northwest Georgia. I admit that I do not know ANYTHING about agency nursing. I have 12 years experience in Medical Surgical, 2 years in surgery, and 2.5 years in Pain Management, and a few months in home health. I took 5 years off to raise kids. But surprisingly, it is all coming back to me, I have a natural instinct for nursing (I know how lame) LOL. But anyway, any advice about how to persue this? And Please don't tell me to go back to the hospital, I can't . I have great people skills, I can stick almost anybody, and I learn really quick.

Thanks!

I've used Nursefinders quite a bit...
But I suggest sticking with their corporate branches..
I 've not had good luck with franchises...

I have worked with Maxim in Bellevue area, the recruiters are careless, they just don't know what they are doing cancellation at the very last moment, give wrong directions for the assignments, very low pay.

Why do you recommend them?

Which ones have you had bad experiences with (if you want to type what happened, I am sure the readers would appreciate you sharing)

thanks,

I have been an agency nurse off and on for about 4 years, in the North Texas area. I have used several different agencies. Medical Staffing was pretty good for per diam, at least it was a couple of years ago. I have been in contact with Nightingale and Aureous all during this time, but have only accepted a contract from Nightingale(out of Florida). They were good as far as pay, and communication. They offered me the most for expense stipend, and paid every week without a hitch. The only bad thing is if you decide to go with another agency when one contract is completed, the same rep. that has been sugar sweet turns into a rattlesnake! Also, they put you in the hospital, but won't go to bat for you if the hospital tries to move you around or push you to work differently from the contracted assignment. PPR nursing has been great!

Has anyone done traveling with TruStaff? I have had calls from that agency with offers, as well as Travel Max and Medical Solutions. Relating any experiences with these would be appreciated. There are so many travel agencies out there to choice from.
