How is Med/Surg charge in a rural hospital?

I'm an ICU nurse for years and years. I have occasionally worked Med/Surg as a floater.

An agency I just started working for booked me for MS Charge in a rural hospital, about 30 or 40 beds on the unit. They know my background but said it would be fine with my experience.

I'm not 100% on what I'll be doing for 12 hours. What should I expect? It's a night shift.

Thanks!

We're 15 beds and anyone other than those with pneumonia, exacerbations of COPD or CHF, or waiting for a swing bed gets shipped.

It will be quiet. It's likely you're the only RN in the building and you could have responsibilities to the nursing home or ED should you have them.

Vitals, IV's, assessments, documentation, meds, keeping your dementia folks waiting for SNF's out of harm's way.,
