How far would you travel?

Specialties Agency

Hey, I am doing local travel. I am just wondering how far have you driven to work at an assignment? Did you get a hotel or drive? Any suggestions

or tips would be helpful!!

Thanks,

I just finished my first agency job. I traveled 48 miles one way and it took about an hour to get there. One of the other nurses had a 1 1/2 drive and she sometimes stayed over and slept at the hospital in an empty bed. I am considering taking another job with this agency at a hospital the same distance away. But gas has gotten more expensive so I haven't made a decision yet.

I drove 1.5-2 hrs one way (hwy driving 65 mph) for several years doing agency. Got up early and came home late. Worked 12 hr shifts. The money was better than where I was at but more importantly, the work was much better. Of course that was back when gas was barely over a dollar a gallon. If the money came out even, even with gas prices, but the agency work was better - I'd drive rather than have a job that I hated close to home.
