CrossCountryCorps

  1. I am thinking about using CrossCountryCorps Nurse Travel Agency.
Want to here the good and the bad. Thinking of Alexandria Virginia or Columbus Ohio. I am a retired USAF Nurse. Thinking about staying near or on nearby military base. Got any input. Thanks from West Virginia. David

You may want to try posting this in the travel section. But from what I hear around, Cross Country is at the lower end of the spectrum in terms of salary and perks. At least from the nurses that I have worked with that were under them. Not always good.

Some of the apts that they have been placed in......I wouldn't even consider staying there. Pay close attention to what they are offering you. And get everything in writing............

I really don't care for that agency either. They are not flexible with their rate of pay. Shop around and see what other agencies are offering at the same hospitals. I found out while searcging for a travel assignment that they payed lower rates. They are working more in their interest, not yours.

I did contract work Cross Country TravCore. Their health insurance is a 70/30 which is not good. Try to sign up for any extra benefits such as the 401k and it never happened, just run around and phone tag, no benefits.

They used to be one of the best out there. Now days, I hear very few positive things about them.

In fact, I have heard little positive about about ANY travel agency lately. They all seem to be struggling financially and seem to be cutting pay and benefits. I've noticed a real swing in travel opps lately in my area. It seems to be going more and more PRN agencies and less and less travel. Local contracts through PRN agencies seem to be the way to go. Still excellent pay and benefits.
