Average hourly pay for per diem agency RN?

Specialties Agency

Hi,

I jst recently became a per diem agency RN in LA. I have a BSN, work tele/ms, and have two years experience in a acute care teaching hospital. I know we really don't discuss numbers here, but I can't help feeling like I'm being ripped off. I won't mention the agency I'm with but I will say that I am making $36/hour + time and a half for every 4 hours I work over 8 hours during a 12 hour shift. I typically work 3-12's/wk. I don't have benefits or any other incentives. I love working for my agency, but feel that I should be making a bit more. It would be great if you guys could disclose some known rates/hr!

Thanks,

Victoria

for a RN at a travel agency, they offered $25 in the bay area...california.

I am currently doing the same at this present time...you may be able to ask for more, especially in LA, which I think the cost of living is highter than here...the agencys are making a lot off of us....there are a few business tactics you may use to your advantage...the rate for Miami ranges between $38-42/hr with no benefits...and usually, in Miami, the payrate is one of the lowest compared at a national level...this is just what I have observed.

Hello,

May I ask who your agency is in Tampa, FL? The one that takes out taxes:) I just moved here to help my grandparents. I need a good per diem agency. I am an ICU/CCU RN. Thank you for your help!

I am in Tampa, fla and I work with 2 different agencies. One agency for night shift will give you $50/hr but it is in an area very far from me, and they do not take out taxes. Which I don't like because you pay for that at the end. And their dayshift rate is $45/hr.

The other one I deal with pays $35/hr day shifts and $37 night shift. Weekend night shift is $40/hr weekend day shift s is $38/hr. So you can make pretty good money. And they do not provide benefits.

Hi! I saw one of your old posts that said you worked per diem w 2 agencies in Tampa- which agencies are those?

Thank you!

South Carolina I work at a few hospitals:

If in Oregon, I know MedStaff pays:

In Hawaii it was about $55/hr, they did take out taxes.

MAHALO! my brother and sis-in law live in waipahu (both RN's) and my wife and I are also both RN's wishing to move to hawaii w/i the year. can you tell me the agency and where you worked? thanks!

Hi, I used to work for a per diem agency, and the average pay for day shift started at $34/hr, then went up depending on the specialty. For the night shifts, starting pay was usually time and a half, and dependent on the need, went to double time. So for example a Tele nurse working night shift frequently was paid double time at $80/hr. Pretty lucrative. Some nurses would not take per diem shifts unless it was time and a half or double. They still got at least 3 shifts per week.

Hey I am an RN with a BSN and 7 years of experience but 11 of LPN. I work for Nursefinders in AZ and make 37.00 an hour....is that a good rate?

Looking for agency work in Athens area, GA. I'm RN/BSN with 7yrs experience including some ICU (1yr). My hospital pays me $25/hr and I'm a good nurse. Besides liking what I do I do not feel appreciated. Please help with suggestions...?
