Would being a Wound Care Nurse give you an edge on finding a job in Dermatology field

  1. 0 Hi all,

My dream job is to work for a Dermatologist, and one day become an FNP and continue to work in that field. I am currently looking for a job, and there is a Wound Care Nurse opening. I was thinking of applying for it because I thought the experience might look good on a resume when applying for a Dermatologist or MedSpa office. I am not certified as a wound care nurse, but thought that it wouldn't hurt to apply if it would be beneficial to my career goal. What are your thoughts? Thanks!

It all depends if you need a few years of critical care exp. for the FNP program. If you don't then go for it! Sounds like a good idea.

Yes. Wound care would look a lot better on your experience at a dermatology nursing portion. If I saw that, I would hire you in a heartbeat.
