VisaScreen vs. CES for Vermont International Nurse NCLEX pass endorsement application

Can anyone help me? i intend to get licensed in Vermont since the California BRN has already issued a statement that they will no longer extend validities of pass letters effective, if i'm not mistaken, april 10 or 30, 2010...

i'm wondering, since i already have a VisaScreen certificate, do i need to apply for a CES again?... the process seem redundant since the CES will be requiring me to submit credentials which are exactly the same as the ones required for my VisaScreen...

i just want to know if anyone has been in the same situation and what they did... and how long did it take to get licensed in Vermont?... :confused:although i totally get the California BRN's move, i still would not want to have my NCLEX go to waste... :crying2:

pleeease help anyone?

thank you!

Hi! i am an nclex-rn passer as well (CaliforniaBON) and i am planning to endorse my nclex result to Vermont. my question is: do i need to take the cgfns certification program?? because I just read the application packet from vermont and it says there "For RN's whose nursing program was NOT taught in English: In order to apply to the State of

Vermont, you must have completed the CGFNS Certificate Program."

I am confused. Please help! :(

Was your training taught in English or not, if not then it is clear that you have to do the CGFNS exam

Hi. I already passed the NCLEX-RN in the state of California, and just like most of you, it is going to expire next year. I am planning to endorse it to the state of vermont. I would just like to verify if I understood the previous posts correctly. If I already have a VisaScreen, I do not need to submit a new set of documents for my CES report? Will CGFNS automatically credit that? Thank you very much.

With regards to the candidate report, is there any format for the letter? Is there any specific department of the CA BON that I have to address the letter to? Thanks

CGFNS will use the same stuff from vsc however you will need to pay and submit application before they will do anything

Thank you very much silverdragon102. It can really help me save some money. So after applying and paying the fee, how will I know that I would not send the documents anymore? Would they give me a notification just like what they did for the visascreen that I do not have to send the documents again? Thanks a lot

I would suggest you contact them and check but a few members have done this with no issues, I did CES first and then did vsc and they just indicated on my account that the docs had been received

Oh. Ok that's good. Another question, when would be the best time to apply for vermont? I am planning to apply for CES this month. But there is a complication with regards to my local license here in the Philippines. It will be expired this August but I already had it renewed and was told that it can be out by September to October yet. I am planning to send the application to vermont once I have my new license. Would applying for CES and vermont now be ok or would I wait once I can receive my local license?

hi! just submitted my application to VT... will keep you posted on how long it takes...

you can verify the language of your nursing program with your school's registrar... it is, i think, as verified by our school registrar, in english... so i am assuming same goes for the entire philippines... as even our philippine health nursing book is in english... in the form that cgfns asks you to print and submit to your school they ask for the medium of instruction... and i have searched numerous blogs and have confirmed that a cgfns certificate is not necessary to endorse your nclex to VT as many have done so already...

goodluck!

good day..just want to ask if CES has also an expiration just like the visa screen.thanks

hello, you can process your VSC without an agency... your VSC is something you need if you want to enter the US as a healthcare professional... the cgfns does not require you to have an agent or a sponsor to have your VSC processed... it has a validity of 5 years and is renewable for another 5 years... i suggest you have it done, but it will be expensive... around 500US$... please be reminded that the retrogression seems to be at its worst for nurses these days... visa issuance for approved applications take 5 to 7 years so goodluck!... but just so your nclex and ielts results won't go to waste (i am assuming you have passed an english exam since you need it to have your VSC processed)... the ielts keep TRFs for only 2 years... they destroy your file after...

goodluck! i hope this helps...

what im asking is.. if the credential evaluation from cfgns has an expiration. i already have my vsc...now im planning to apply for CES
