So I had a question and posted in a different post but no one answered. And I started a new topic.

Ok that's out of the way. :wacky:

So for the VisaScreen application: I wanted to know how long it took for the application to be approved if all the documents were sent and there were no more obstacles after that.

Thanks!

For me, took like a year, if only because they never told me I was still missing credentials evaluation, so I never purchased the service. Of course, they never asked, so my application expired and I had to pay not only for renewal but also for CES. Cgfns...a bunch of crooks.

You have to pay for the credentials evaluation? Isn't that part of the $500 fee?

I think $500 is enough to tell a newbie like me that they're a bunch of crooks....:cheeky:

Well unless they've changed it, no 500$ does not cover the CES. It's an extra application. You have to send the same darn documents for CES too. 300$ for it. Extra time. Just be on their butts and hound them. Call them once a week to get a status update. Take down the name of someone you talk to who seems halfway competent (cuz that's the most competence you are likely to see)

If I'm Canadian and I live near the borders, do I still need to do it?

Do what? If you mean VSC then yes as the border guards may and do ask for it

No, the CES. I have to send them a transcipt from my school. So why would I need to do the CES, if it's part of the VSC?

CES has no part of the VSC, CES is a breakdown of your transcripts where as VSC means you meet immigration requirements. Documents sent for CES can be used for VSC with only extra for VSC is pass in either NCLEX or CGFNS exam

Silky, I'm also Canadian and lived near the border. That changes nothing. TN status is for Canadians, Mexicans and Americans to work in each other's countries. You need visascreen to get TN. You need CES to get VSC. I know it sucks, waste of time and money. Heck, you think that's bad? After I sent all that stuff in, my BON of choice made me write the GED. I had just given them my college degree, but they needed to know I could pass their high school equivalency. And let me tell you, if GED is any indication of the quality of their high school education, our Canadian system is WAY better in that regard!

I never did the VSC and I did the NCLEX-RN exam already and passed. Now I'm doing the CES application.

You're now scaring me, lol. I had a professor who's a nurse in the US as well and she never anything like this.

And you mean VisaScreen for the medical professionals for the said countries in order to get the TN. Because both my parents work in the US and they only applied for TN and were successful.

No, they're not medical professionals.
