    Suzanne4,

hi! im new in this forum, just wanna ask bout NCLEX licensure in vermont.is it true that if you apply in vermont you dont need to have a CGFNS/CES evaluation? what states will you able to work at if you passed their NCLEx exam? do they have a reciprocity in other states? how long will it take me to process my application? is it true that it would only take vermont a month to process my application? please help...thanks..

the vermont state DOES not need the CES report. They only need your official school transcrip forwarded to them by your school authority. BUT if you want your license in Vermont to be reciprocated to another states THEN you must meet that STATE of your Choice there Board of nursing requirment, if they need CES then you must apply for that. good luck

Licenses in the US do not have reciprocity, only the NCLEX-RN exam does. You will need to go thru the steps that a particular state requires under License by Endorsement procedures. If they want the CES, then you will need to have the CES, if they want the CGFNS exam, then you will need to have that.

Reciprocity was a term that was used back in the days when each state had their own nursing exam, and depending on what your socre was on the exam, you could get reciprcoty in another state without having to take their exam. Or before Visa Screen Certificates were required for all foreing nurses, some states accepted the Canadian license and offered reciprocity based on that and gave them a license without the nurse writing the NCLEX-RN exam. But now since the VSC is required, they have to take the NCLEX-RN exam to get a VSC.

hi kyatRN.. did you ever find out if you can apply to vermont w/o first passing the local board? thanks in advance

Hi, If you dont have a local board license, write a letter to them stating that you intend to practice nursing in the U.S. Then attach your letter to the vermont application.

Since she took the licensing exam, she needs to include those results. If she did not take the exam, then she just needs the letter. The issue is that she has actually taken the exam, she must include on her application that she did. She cannot with hold that information.

I personally appiled at Vermont w/o a local license. I graduated last April,2006. And after passing my IELTS exam after graduating, I immediately applied at Vermont BON, last May.I attached a letter stating that I am not planning to practice nursing here but am planning to work in the U.S. I followed-up my application by calling them and they informed me to wait for my ATT this week. I also agree with Suzanne4 that witholding any information on the application will definitely pose a problem in the future. :wink2:
