hey guys,

haven't been here for a while...but just to let you guys know that I had a face to face interview yesterday with my canadian employer and it was tough three people in the panel..

there are some interesting questions that came out during the interview and ill be posting them in another thread...

thank you so much for those who replied...and it is my turn to help as im getting more and more acquainted with the procedure on how to get a job in canada....

hi lenjoy & dopey,,that the problem here in ontario all of us nurses from phils..my friend had a 10 yrs experience in kuwait, the CNO gave him a 11 elements/subject to take and 400 hrs clinical practise before he write the crne exam,,we're the same boat, but for me i had 2 yrs experience...i dont know to CNO,they always reason that we lack 2yrs education,,,you spent less than 10,000$ before you write the crne exam...gudluck to both of you,,,

dear lenjoy.

i hope you don't mind me by saying (and this goes out to all of us who are looking to work in a foreign country)....

earn as much experience wherever you are ....the more specialised the area you work in, the better....

if you could do a course where you would earn a certificate or diploma from....go for it...

if you have worked in the middle east most especially, keep your contracts no matter what...you'd need that someday...

do a lot of research on the place you want to work in may that be the hospital, or the state or the country... weigh your pros and cons....this will save you a lot of hassle and money as well...

and don't give up...

just some of the things i learned from this journey of mine:bugeyes:

and yes....ma is a post basic course that could add points to her application...

thank you Dopey and borik. I'm not rushing to work in canada just yet. I'm encouraging my sister to go there first. Since she alreay had alot of experience. Being a pedia nurse for 3 days here and pedia onco in Middle east for about 4 years now. And of course, she has money to finance her means when she want to go there.... I think she just had a 1 year in her MA. She already had alot of trainings.... Trust me! The mere onco nurse works like an ICU nurse!!!! As for me, I work in an infectious area for almost 2 months now. hehehe....

Borik, have you registered to CNO yet? What happened? Please tell us about it...

Thank you....

borik, one other thing though....and i dont mean to burst your bubble...when you said"i just finishing my 200hrs clinical duty dis jan-april" did you mean you will finish the 200 clinical hours by april??
