hey guys,

haven't been here for a while...but just to let you guys know that I had a face to face interview yesterday with my canadian employer and it was tough three people in the panel..

right now im just waiting for the result...so fingers crossed...

there are some interesting questions that came out during the interview and ill be posting them in another thread...

thank you so much for those who replied...and it is my turn to help as im getting more and more acquainted with the procedure on how to get a job in canada....

hello, I just got my registration letter and all other forms. Its little confusing. I am not sure which form i should be filling first. I have recieved these forms (application to write examination, application for temporary supervised registerd nurse, statuory nurse,application for temporary registerd nurse registration ) I would like to know which form should i fill first for temporary registration. There are few options in temporary registerd nurse cateogry which one should i pick for temporary permit.

After 6 days of waiting .... just now my phone rang and i was told of the good news...I passed the interview...(YEY!!)

the interview was held here in the UK...they came over to meet the applicants face to face...

there will be another interview (via the telephone) coming up very soon and this is with the Nurse Managers of the different areas where we would be assigned to...i told them that i was going to Canada on the first week of October...so they would try to arrange a date for me to meet up with the Nurse Manager of ITU during the time i am there....

anyways, thank you for the reassurance(s) you guys send me...

hi everyone. I am also planning to move to Canada specifically in ONtario. I applied in Collego of Ontario, emailed them that I wanted to apply and they sent me all the forms and requirements needed. Fortunately I already received my eligibility to take the CRNE this december. I have a pending application as permanent resident under skilled workers class last 2005 but I think processing times at this time may last for 60-65 months. I do not have any employer yet in Ontario and I intend to take the CRNE also through a visitor's visa. Just want to know if Ontario is also open for graduate nurse. Will they also issue temporary permit until I passed the CRNE. Can i just process my permanent resident papers in Ontario. :idea: Somebody told me that it is difficult to be employed in Ontario unlike the other provinces such as Alberta. Thanks

What I can say? Going through the screening by the employer was a breeze (well, i can say this now:coollook: that I got the job). What's giving me the headache at this current moment is my registration with CNO and i thought I could start working in Ontario by October. Oh well!!

I might just exagerrated that one a bit, Sorry.. What i meant was migrating to another country isn't that easy as we thought because we all know the hassle of almost everything like the visa, the paper works from school, filling out forms for credential evaluation, if found eligible then applying and reviewing for the canadian board exam, then applying for medicals and god knows what else? Coz I am facing the same situation right now for my migration to Australia except board exam. If you want to know more about it i suggest find time to read some stickies in the Canadian forums that might helped you.. :nuke:

I agree...I have been through a lot since I this application of mine started...

I actually have the results of my application. CNO is really tough...I was told that I need some more documents to support my education/experience to make up for the 2 years that I lack making it equivalent to their educational standards so I guess that's another 3 months for me of waiting and follow ups ....

And I haven't even started my immigration application yet...I bet that would take me another 3 - 6 months....:scrying:

when did you submit your registration application for cno?

i submited mine last nov 2007 and till now no news from them. i also registered for alberta..

do you know how many months will it take to eventually receive an eligibility confirmation from them?

by the way, im located in me but educated and registered from pi.

congrats anyway for getting that job...

Heres' the time frame:

September 7,2007 - I faxed my application form and payment to CNO

October 10, 2007 - I have completed all their requirements and my assessment started on this date. I also received my file number + the name of my assessor, whom you can speak with over the phone if you have any queries (in my case, we communicated through email and if i wanted to speak with her i had to make a telephone appointment)

December 19, 2007 - CNO made the decision on my application and unfortunately, like in my last post, my years of grade school and high school education is not enough

They say that application to CNO for an eligibility would take up to 12-15 weeks...

May I ask how many years of High school and elementary do you have in UK? Because here in the PHilippines, we have 6 yrs elementary then 4 years for high school. College for nursing is 4 years but almost 5 years because we still have classes every summer.
