Hi everyone!

I'm moved it here from NY nurses topic...

My wife just passed NCLEX this mounth and I really need your help especially those who have already landed a job as RNs in hospitals there in ny. She is a foreign graduate and she is currently working as a shift supervisor(pediatric class) nurse and ICU graduate here in Israel. My question is, would employers of hospitals in NY accept non US hospital experience (if ever she get accepted in a hospital here) in order to get a job as an RN there? I really need your help. Your advices are much appreciated. Thank you!

Specializes in Medical and general practice now LTC.

Will she need sponsorship?

Yes, she will need a sponsorship

Specializes in Oncology.

It would be a little but tough to get a job that require sponsorship. But it's possible. She may need a network first. Like do volunteer or get to know someone who works in the hospital.

My friend is a foreign graduate and been working before. She lived in CA. They considered her as a new grad since she had no experience in the U.S.

Is she on F1? Or what type of visa? That would be an impact as well. If she was on tourist visa, they might not want to sponsor her. Not to be negative but there are many RN graduates who doesn't need any sponsorship.

OP states in first post that she is still working in Israel

Specializes in Oncology.

Working in Israel? What does that have to do with working in the U.S. that need sponsorship?

To be sponsored working in the U.S. with H1B, it is more than having an experience in other country. Immigration will need to know why this person is needed more than a U.S. citizen to work in this country.

If you mean a networking, if her husband can do networking for her. Like my husband did. Networking doesn't mean she has to be in the U.S. physically. It is 2015, there is an Internet. She can search. She can start talking to people online and ask the the possibity to get a job here in the U.S.

Sorry there are many other ways to do networking.
