Hi! I'm a registered nurse in the Philippines. I really decided to join this website because I have so many questions in mind that is bothering me right at this moment. This is regarding my plans of working in Illinois. I will be taking the CGFNS exam this July. In God's grace to pass, I'm planning to take IELTS exam and apply for an NCLEX examination. I would just like to ask an advice from you if what exam should I take first? Is it the IELTS or apply first to NCLEX? And how many months does this application will be approved by the Illinois BON? Because I've heard from my friends that it will took us a couple of months for our application to be approved by the Illinois BON for us to take the NCLEX exam. Is it true? Thanks ahead for your reply... God bless!!!

i applied to IL and will be taking the NCLEX this coming june.. the processing in IL is fast.. after a week of passing my application, they send me a letter telling me that my application was approved and they told me to register at pearsonvue... It only takes a week..

Regarding CES, it took about less than 2mos before they forwarded the result to Continental Testing Service..

Take the TOEFL exam as a requirement in IL BON...

If all the necesarry requirements are already there (Application form, CES result, TOEFL result and fingerprint reciept), they will send you an acknowledgement letter...

goodluck and god bless...

Hi, may i ask where you sent you TOEFL scores? I sent it to the Illinois Department of Professional Regulation. Should I have sent it to Continental Testing Services?

I also sent my license verification to CTS but I think I sent it a month before I sent my application. Do you think I should re-send it again?

As for my fingerprinting, I did not receive any receipt letter from the Illinois State Police so I was waiting and waiting. But they email me that they received it already so I sent my application to CTS along with the email they sent me.

Could you help me how you did it? Thanks!

Hi, I haven't received any acknowledgement letter. I had a hard time processing all the requirements so everything was not in order. I am still waiting for the acknowledgement letter right now.

I sent my application last May 12, 2006. But all other requirements including the fingerprint card were sent last April.

Hope this helps.

i got my acknowledgement letter after a week of passing the necessary papers.. hmm maybe your acknowledgement letter got delayed from the post office.. i think you should wait.. or call the CTS if they recieved your mail...

i think my CES is still in review. I sent everything last March and CGFNS has not forwarded it yet. Sigh.

They told me that they do not issue a fingerprint reciept..sad...They advised me to send another card to

when i send my fingerprint card, i enclosed a $54 bank draft (i dunno if it increased or not.. ask them...) and i wrote a note to forward the original fingerprint reciept to CTS..

hi! thank you so much for responding my message. i would just like to ask u if aside from the green application form for examination u have submitted to cts, what else did you include? should i also include my transcript of records from the nursing school i attended? what about the diploma? pictures? kindly enumerate to me the things i should include in my green application before i will send the following probably this month.

how about your ces report from cgfns and the fingerprint card? are you done with those?

for il licensure exam, all documents should be sent to cts.

for il licensure thru endorsement, send to idpr.

if missent, maybe it will help to send an email to forward the documents to the proper recipient.

for the fingerprint card, send it (and the service fee) to the fingerprint card scan vendor listed in the application packet (such as identix) and not to the illinois state police.
