And it is just that, a scheme.

You already have a BSN if I am not mistaken. But be aware that if you get the training there, you are not going to be able to remain there once you are done as they have a hiring freeze in place and it will be almost impossible for you to get a visa that will permit you to work there when you are done.

Same way that we see shoddy things for the BSN to go there and train to be a nursing asst, that will not permit one to remain there when they are done either.

I would have a good read on this forum before you do a thing, much has already been written about it.

thanks for the sound advice, suzanne4. yes, i do have a BSN. i was just looking for job opportunities since no one seems to be interested to train new nurses here in the PI.

Report them to the NMC this sort of thing needs to be stamped out!

This is not a job opportunity, but only a scam. Why in the world if you already hold a BSB would you want to go back and train for something less and not be able to get a visa to remain where you are training when you are done?

This program or whatever they wish to call it, will not be able to get you a visa to remain in the country once you finish their program, and since you already hold a BSN, why in the world would you want another degree that is the same thing, more or less?

Please get the opinion of the NMC, as well as the immigration officials there to see what they think of this program.

The UK is under a hiring freeze, there is no way that you are going to be able to get licensed and get a visa to remain there.

as incredulous as it may sound, holding a BSN degree in my country doesn't mean much anymore since no one is willing to train new nurses. i know you're fully aware of the situation that new grads are in right now. that is why some (including me) are looking into opportunities that may give us the chance to practice and be trained abroad.

i did not realize that the course they are offering is somewhat a lesser degree compared to having a BSN. they made it sound like it was similar to a bridging program for foreign grads wishing to work in other countries.

i'm just grateful that there are people and forums like these who are willing to help and answer queries. you saved a little soul from being scammed. :)

It is not a lesser degree but essentially the same thing. And the part that gets me angry is that they were not up front with you that you would not be able to remain in the UK and work when you were done with your student visa there. That is where that made a big mistake and we caught them with it. One small little fact that they left out.

You do need to report them.

The training there is not going to help you get a visa in another country at all, that is my point of it. Visas are dependent on where one is born, not where they did their training. And no reason whatsoever to get the same degree all over again, makes no sense at all.

There are other countries that you can go to, and work in the role of the RN provided you have passed your locale exam.

And they also said that if you earn the degree you will be eligible to apply for the work permit. So does it mean that they lied in their orientation? Does it mean that after the 2 years they are going to send you home? OMG

Yes, it is very very hard to get a work permit if not from within the EU (I know they do not need a WP) Just because you trained in the UK means they will make any exception. They are also recent changes to student visas and no guarantee that they will allow you to work

Does not matter what they tell you, the fact is that the UK is under a hiring freeze and you are not going to be able to get licensed there as an RN. Sure, you may be able to continue as a care-giver, but not in the role of the RN. And for each and every year that you spend in that role, it takes away from current work experience as an RN so that it will be much harder for you to get hired as an RN.

Guess that they left that part out of it.

Or what about the fact that you are going to be going over there with the BSN already? Makes no sense at all to take the program that they are recommending. Only one that comes out ahead is the school and the owner's pockets.

Please take the time to do some reading on this forum for the real scoop on these programs.

i think they forgot to mention that in their orientation. I attended their seminar last August 18. What they are offering is for you to work for 40 hours/week and that you are not allowed to leave the country unless you have an employer. With this, you have to pay them a certain amount because you will be interviewed by the employer or agency... if you don't pass the interview they will return your money. I am confused right now because I'm kinda considering their program. I was so sure of applying with ISA because of some people I know already leaving for UK after signing up with them, not until i read this forum. Now I'm having second thoughts!
