I guess I'll have to wait until July, 2 months more of waiting wouldn't harm anyway. Thanks iamnomad.

I had to wait when I applied coz I didn't know I was qualified for NSW state sponsorship. By the time I realised, it was closed for new applications. So I waited 7 month to qualify for the SC 189.

I don't know if you've mentioned this, but have you applied for ANMAC Skills Assessment? If not, you must do it asap. It takes about 3-4 months.

Off-topic: I was in Sydney last night for the Vivid Sydney festival.

iamnomad: Yes, I'm in the process of doing it. I've already paid $300 to ANMAC though this is why I couldn't get my head around this bit: asking ANMAC to just do the assessment or include my overseas experience with the assessment?--as part of the DIAC reqts.

Let me know when you're coming next time I could do some meet-ups from people on this site!

oh right. I forgot your original query. sorry, I got early dementia. lol.

yeah, meet ups would be good. I live in the South Coast with 3 Filipino RNs, which is about an hour to Sydney.

Hi PogzRn,

Yes, do ANMAC asap as it is the only thing that takes a LONG long time. Applying state sponsorship for you in NSW is the way to go if you do want you P.R. Status asap. BUT as it is, NSW has alot of people applying for that so hopefully, once they open, you can lodge your papers asap for 190 visa. 189 visa would require 3 years work experience overseas or 1 year work experience in Au.

I myself am short of 2 months for the 3 years abroad experience and will be applying for state sponsorship in W.A. soon. In my opinion, state sponsorship criteria for NSW and Victoria is the easiest there is as compared to W.A. So check those out. ;-) Gather your documents and prepare answering EOI. Once ANMAC releases your letter, you can submit your EOI and wait for the invitation. As experienced by my friend who also lodged 190 visa December 2013, it takes quite awhile for NSW since ALOT of people wants to live there.

God bless;-)

Thanks sbeattrix, Could you walk me through the ANMAC process?? I've paid the $300 fee and I have yet to turn in my documents as I have no clue if I should include a letter of reference from my employer. I'm thinking of applying for the NSW state sponsorship, so what should I do? Do I still need a reference letter? Should I wait until a year of aus experience, is that still possible given that I've paid for the assessment as early as now? Thanks...

hi sephine! here's my timeline :) :

December 2012 - Finished BP went home here in Phils and spent Christmas with my family :)

January 2013 - Went back to Aus

Feb 2013 - Got my AHPRA Registration

April 2013 - Went back to Phils (Had to exit as I already reached the max 3 mos stay)

- Had a telephone interview with a district Hospital in Western Australia

May 2013 - Got the job offer (Emergency Room Nurse)

June 7, 2013 - Lodged my 457 online offshore

I am still currently waiting for my 457 visa. Hope this helps! :)

Hello, Ms Aila. I am also an internationally trained ER RN in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Finished BSN in Philippines. Have 2 years and 8 months experience- 2 years and 5 months in ER. Can I ask you a question how you go about applying with an Australian employer who will sponsor? Where did you locate this employer? you are very fortunate at times like this, where Internationally-trained RN who have Australian RN lic , are left hanging in their applications or desperate to go back but takes time.

My history includes the ff:

- I got my registration last May 2014 after BP in a college in Melbourne. I went back to Philippines on May 2014 and got my hardcopy AHPRA cert via mail here in the Philippines- RN Div 1. Independently (like what I did to my AHPRA and college processing), my plan now is applying for PR 190, because it seems like I have too many rejections in my series of applications online in different hospitals in Australia. I can be qualified (at 60 points) for PR 190 or 189 at present. Some of my RN friends in Australia advise me to take risk in applying for PR asap. Few of them advise otherwise beacuse it will take linger compared to applying as a student visa (affordable courses diploma in business).

At Present: Independently, I am applying for ANMAC assessment just in case. I also read news that all applications of international nurses will be handled by AHPRA-Sydney. If it like this, will it take time for them to process a good standing certificate?

Any advices to my fellow allnurses members are very much welcome? May be this is the most difficult situation where I am in right now. But I am confident I can do this, been processing independently my bridging til AHPRA RN.

P.S. I cannot send PM here yet and can only read you PM.

Hi wingcharm! Is it necessary to avail PRC service for good standing to be send to ANMAC directly? And did you avail your college/university's service to have your nursing (BSN-Philippines) original TOR with RLE and course outline with hours, send directly to ANMAC?

P.S. I am applying for my modified skills ANMAC assessment at the moment any help would be welcome. Any fellow allnurses have the same predicament I have?

I suggest to those who are qualified for a PR (SC 189 or 190) visa to apply as soon as possible. The current Australian government is changing a lot of things. Immigration could be next for all we know. So the first thing yous have to do is to apply for ANMAC assessment since its probably the lengthiest of all the processes.

I applied more than a year ago, and I don't remember asking my state BON or my school to send documents directly to them. There are less requirements for modified assessment. Most of them are just certified copies.

Just a tip. When you have your original copies certified, please have 2-3 copies certified as well. You can use those copies for immigration, employment, university admission, etc.
