Skilled workers Australia

Skilled workers New Zealand

hi. i have tried to search this site for my questions but i haven't found a definite answer.

i'm a nurse from the philippines wanting to get a stable job on another country. i only have a year of clinical experience.

given the current situation:

a. i'm willing to migrate to new zealand or australia. i understand it's easier (in terms of requirements) to get to NZ compared to australia as a student nurse for a year while working part-time. but i've read some of the threads saying that income in new zealand is too low. i don't want to invest in something i might regret later.

b. another thing is in terms of different fields of nursing, which country has more options? i have realized that i don't like to work in a hospital but since i have a degree in nursing, i want a field somehow related to it. and as the visa restricts you somehow in the field of nursing.

please feel free to correct some of my info. thanks.

You will not be able to register as a nurse in New Zealand as you only have one year experience and they have from the 1st of March demand 2 years experience.

AS for being a student nurse....and you do not like nursing in a hospital....what a waste of money and time as you are concerned re low pay of New Zealanders, would pay in NZ be lower than your country?

You can only work in Australia if you have a visa that allows you to work. That requires an employer that cannot find a local to do the job!! or a working holiday visa if you come from a country that has this arrangement with Australia.

There are massive cutbacks in health in all Australia. Just exactly do you want to do that you can offer an employer that a local does not have? might be yoour answer.

Hi guys! I and my few other friends are looking for our classmates for the february intake at IHNA Melbourne. If you are one, please contact us, Cheers! xx

i see. i understand your point.

regarding the pay, it's highly unlikely that pay in new zealand would be lower compared to the philippines.

so there are massive cutbacks in australia. does new zealand have the same situation currently?

I don't think New Zealand has a big demand for overseas nurses, at the moment.

Coming to Australia was my dream that started when I saw pictures of the beautiful country when I was in high school. However when I graduated nursing and did some research on the path I need to take to work in Aussie, I was put aback by the huge cost I needed to have. However I was so determined to succeed in this quest that I struggle to overcome the hurdles that come along the way for me to reach my dreams for five years after university graduation. I think I have posted about it before in this site. Anyhow, like most of the forumers here, I and my partner underwent AHPRA application, bridging program and job hunting together. And believe it or not, the chances were slim but we went to the same BP provider, and ended up sponsored by one employer. The path we took was not easy but nonetheless our faith in our dreams, in each other and in the Supreme Provider was all that we had and all that we used in order for us to get where we are today. We have no relatives in this country. We are not rich people monetarily but we are rich in aspirations. We may not have been lucky enough to be born in a rich country but we are lucky of how our personal circumstances shaped us to be strong individuals, with firm conviction to succeed. Moreover, there were many people who we met here in Aussie who helped us make it through. There were those who provided us shelter, shared their meals, opened their homes and endowed us with sound advice which we always value and take heed on. Employment circumstances have certainly changed over the past few years here but there is always, always a way through. Perseverance, humility and prayer were our key. To persevere in overcoming obstacles that often come along the way; to be humble to listen to other people's advice and to observe the new culture; and finally to lift up to God every second, every decision, every challenge and every success that is part of this whole journey.

Hi I am new here. I am about to start my visa application. I just want to ask where should I lodge 456 visa? Thank you:) I've read that I should contact via center first because personal appearance through the immigration needs to be scheduled first.

Goto the via center directly, just make sure your papers are complete. You don't have to go to the embassy. Aside from that, there is no personal appearance needed in the Australian Embassy, unless they asked you to come, like for instance, there is something wrong with your papers or something is suspicious about you or in your application.

the usual documents. forms, id picture, proof of money in the bank, supporting docs to prove that you are a nurse then offer acceptance from the school.my friend did this too.but when she came back, she had to face the immigration for 15min interrogation.

Hi! for those who're already in AU, do we need a sort of rental agreement form with the landlady of the place we're staying at? I was just wondering if this could be one of the things asked in the immigration upon arrival. What if I just found the contact through gumtree? I asked if I could just pay when I arrive and thankfully they're amenable. But I'm concerned about proofs, if these are at all needed. Anything else I should know/prepare for before leaving Ph? Will be leaving soon, thanks for your tips everyone, appreciate it!

hello, can i ask any other number of VIA center to cntact to?? been trying several times the number that they've posted on the internet but unfortunately its out of service..
